2D/3D Imaging

Cone beam scanner

Dentsply Sirona Axeos® 2D/3D Imaging provides traditional digital 2D imaging as well as a 3D digital tomographic view of the patient’s area of interest. While traditional x-rays are only two-dimensional, 3D imaging allows Dr. Abel to visualize a full 360-degree view of the tooth and surrounding areas.

In-office 3D cone beam CT imaging scans are also an essential component of dental implant treatment planning. Using a 3D reconstruction of your jaws, Dr. Abel can virtually place your dental implant on the screen to determine the best positioning, angulation, and need for bone grafting prior to surgery. This virtual planning allows Dr. Abel to consider multiple aspects of implant placement when planning your treatment, resulting in optimal aesthetics, function, and longevity for your final restoration. Seeing a 3D model on the screen allows patients to understand their procedures better and visualize the end result.
