Dr. Mark Abel
Dr. Abel was born and raised in the Midwest but acquired all of his higher education in the Northeast. He obtained an undergraduate degree from MIT in 1998. Dr. Abel was awarded his dental degree from Harvard in 2003. At Harvard, he was the recipient of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award. Dr. Abel then moved to Philadelphia where he earned a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. In June of 2009, he completed Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Abel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (i.e.: Board Certified). He has also earned Fellowship status from the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Abel maintains active dental and medical licenses in New Hampshire and is certified for office administration of general anesthesia.
Dr. Abel is actively involved in his profession and the community. He is a recent past President of the Greater Manchester Dental Society (a regional component of the New Hampshire Dental Society), and he is also a New Hampshire Office Anesthesia Evaluator. Outside of work, Dr. Abel is a MIT Educational Counselor and interviews local applicants for the Office of Admissions. He enjoys spending time with his wife Sue and their two sons Soren and Henry.
